A team on a mission

It shows in our commitment to each other, in our dedication to excellence in everything we do, and in the joy with which we do it.

Culture is our greatest institutional strength. Humble and open, driven and resilient, our shared history and vision is the cultural core that imbues everything we do and are now working to build together.

Solon was founded in 2010 by three long-time friends around a kitchen table in Freetown, Sierra Leone. While our institutional architecture has since scaled to cover over nine countries across Africa and beyond, that founding spirit of collegiality has continued to permeate not only Solon, but also the portfolio companies we have co-founded and the partnerships we have created.

Our commitment to excellence begins with the team we have worked to build. We believe in a diverse, inclusive environment, where people from all backgrounds and perspectives are welcomed, nurtured, and supported in becoming the best possible versions of themselves.

MISSION

Transformational impact at the intersection of People and Planet, across the Global South.

VISION

Patient capital for Climate and Community to transform and sustain our world.
